Craig, Some of the 2007 engines have a higher nub in that area, cause the issue you are having. I put the bolts back in and use a dremel or air grinder to get the nub almost flush. After you get the cover off, smooth the nub so it looks good and use some Rust-O-Leum Hammertone so match it up. It's a close match. Not all the 2007's have this. Somewhere around half..... all the best, Mike> > I bought a used 07 with only 400 miles on it. I decided to do the 500 > mile valve check now. Problem is, I can't get the valve cover off. shorter doohicky spring
Does anyone know where I can get a 29 or 32mm (short) doohicky spring?
The springs that came with my new doohicky are too long. I've tried
contacting Mike at Eagle several times over the last month by email
and phone with no luck so I thought I'd ask here.
Thanks

I have the two that came with my doohickey when I ordered it. I'm not sure what lengh they are as I installed the torsion spring. You are welcome to them if you think either one will work.
Garrett

shorter doohicky spring
Hi Hal, I installed the torsion spring when I did the 'doo so i have both the springs that came with it, the are listed as 35 and 38mm but the shorter is actually closer to 34mm as measured inside the hooks. If either of these are any good to you you're more then welcome to them. I live outside of Truro but will be in Halifax tomorrow if you want them....Have a great evening....Greg
