whats your opinion on this slip on muffler? id like to hear from you before i buy one.

Don't waste your money. They look good but are too loud, need to be
repacked often and have reputation for falling apart on long rides
plus no spark arrestor. Yes I have one and it sits on a shelf.

I agree, the repackable aftermarket exhausts are too loud and get louder with time. Most recommend repacking after as little as 1800 mi. I have been using a Laser Pro Duro Street system. All Stainless Steel, quiet, better flow, with a dynojet rejetting kit for 4400 ft elev and the "L" shaped airbox hole and 150 main jet and Dynojet needle and their recommended slide hole drilling to a larger size, I get a measureable performance increase and 48-49 mi/gal from the original 50 mpg. The 48 mpg was from a 350 mi dual sport ride with lots of camping gear and highway riding to the Pashnit Fall Gathering in mid October. Even though the Laser Pro is approved for spark arresting in Europe, it's easy to add a Sparky arrester can for any USFS trails I need to ride on. Mark

I heard pros and cons to exhausts... but in the end the one I read where the guy dyno'd his with the big gun quiet pipe and the jet kit and filter....his thought was that the torque was better with the pipe and kit and jet kit. Heres the link...

I've always thought a good idea for the noise-lovers would be to run a
tube from inside the exhaust exit right up to your ear. Then the rider
could have all the noise they want and the rest of us don't have to
listen to it. Not loud enough? Tap into the header instead of the
muffler.
