oil filter change

Post by hansenj32 » Thu Nov 06, 2008 7:02 am

I took my last ride of the season yesterday, poured 6.11 oz. of Seafoam in the tank and then filled it to the brim w/ gas and rode for a while. When I got back to the house, I pulled the drain plug and went inside for dinner while it drained. Came back out, replaced the plug and filled the crankcase, since I hadn't planned on changing the filter. Now, since the engine hasn't been lit or even turned over, can I replace the oil filter w/o a big mess or does the drain plug have to be removed and the sump empty in order for the oil to drain down from that area when the cover is removed? As long as the bike is on the sidestand, the mess is pretty easy to control using just a rag.. da Vermonster

One more reason to change the filter when you change the oil. Don't think about it, just do it.

People are meeting at Stovepipe Wells Thursday and Friday. So many riders that we will be breaking into several groups. Jeffrey
