need ideas for a home built kayak trailer for my klr

Have any of you nutters figured out how to tow a kayak behind your KLR - there's no parking in most of the launching lots around here - would be much easier to transport the kayak via motorcycle. It'd just be for around town (under 30mph, 10 miles). I've seen it done on bicycles before... was wondering if anyone had adapted it to a motorcycle. bob

I joked about it, but my boat is 17.5' long. I'd said strap a portage cart to the end of it and make a hitch and run lights to the portage cart. I'd hate to have to run it in traffic though. The coppers around here would be on me in minutes. As it is, if you catch them bored enough they start whining about red flags on the end of the boat even when 8' in the air on a pickup truck's ladder racks.

You'll also want to use a hitch that rotates 360-deg around the horizontal axis. If the trailer overturns, you don't want it taking you over with it. Some trailers built for offroad use w/ 4x4 rigs use these. John
