KLR Fans, I have a Joe Rocket mesh jacket and love it but it looks a bit "geeky" and I've been spending a few hours lately trying to find some Motorcycle Body Armor that looks a bit more "normal" for my 57 years I ran across this stuff. I bought a motoport two piece suit several years ago. It was made from stretch kevlar with three layers; the outer kevlar shell, the waterproofing liner and then the insulated inner liner. And lots of armor in the built inarmor pockets............although I haven't had to try it out yet. And for a fellow old fart, I think I cut a pretty dashing figure in my seasick (safety) yellow and black suit. It is very well made, although really stiff the first time I wore it. I washed it a couple of times and it is very comfortable now. The insulation and waterproofing are excellent in 40F wet days and very breezy with the liners zipped out in the 90F+ days lately. I know what you mean, kind of looks like a poster boy for the "Wannabee" club. I got one of those jackets, and spent about an hour with a seam ripper taking out the stitching for the patches. The look as if they are glued, but take a good look at the edges. If you do go this route be slow and easy and you can get rid of $100 worth of ads in about an hour. DC OGC 3804

You could use flat-black paint, and do it in less than 10 minutes. revmaaatin.

I wear Bohn Underarmor and while untested in a fall (been lucky thus far on the KLR)it is very comfortable and allows me to be protected with either winter leathers or summer light clothes. Add Oxtar boots and a good brain bucket to complete the package. albatross who know it hurts to fall off

I've got a pair of the sliders and they are great. I havent tested the ass-fault with them yet ,but they are a lot of protection in critical areas. I like them because I can comfortably wear them all day at work. They have a "relaxed-fit" for a looser fit and a regular-cut for us skinny guys.Comp Acc was great too when I ordered the Wrong Size (brainfart) and had to send them back. - charliey

Good to see some positive reviews on these, I've been close to ordering some, as recently I've come to feel the need for lower body protection. The plan was to get some Slider jeans and an undergarment, perhaps the Bohn armor, for my commute to work. Then I started eyeballing a pair of Motoport pants. True, they are pricey, but so is buying a bunch of pairs of pants looking for 'the perfect pair'. The Ultra Mesh gets nothing but good reviews, and I can purchase a liner for them to use in the winter when So Cal gets sprinkled on I may still purchase a pair of Sliders, but I'd like impact protection (not just abrasion) and I'd like to be able to throw a pair of something on over some shorts during the summer. I want some padding, too. I have some Draggin' Jeans that I seldom wear for that reason. Lately I've been wearing the Airglide 2 mesh overpants from Olympia Motorsports -- http://www.olympiamotosports.com/mensairglidepant/menairglidepant.htm The knee pads could be larger, but the pants are easy to get on and off, breath really well, and the liner is warm and waterproof if you need it. Over normal jeans, I think they run cooler than Draggin' Jeans. Haven't tried the Sliders, but I imagine they're much the same. __Arden
