need some more help...

Well team..... you helped me out last time with the kickstand sensor circuit mod to get me back on the road. And before I spend money on a Kawi Tech....I believe I'll address the group of Sages. I went out this afternoon to take a ride during the few days of good sunlight here in the NW...and my '00 wouldn't start with the choke full on (my normal starting procedure: choke full on, nuetral, kickstand down, no throttle...starter push and we're on...) this afternoon... nothing... I moved the choke to the minimal position..starter button..... nothing.. I twisted the throttle (min choke) and it roared to life...but eventually died out. I tried again..and let it warm up... but as soon as I tried to get it going in First gear ( kickstand up ) it hesitated..then died. I sprayed down the kickstand spring behind the black plastic panel....without any luck. After numerous attempts, I have stopped. I tried once more about 3 hours later. full choke no go... min choke no go. ..min choke with throttle twisted..it runs but as soon as the clutch is released...it dies out again.. I can understand that I have to address the circuit mod for the kickstand...but why does it not want to start in with the full choke as normal without throttle?

The KLR is great for the coming oil Armageddon. The diesel KLR is probably not better since the soaring price of diesel eliminated the diesel advantage. From what I read, even Honda and Toyota will not have plugin Lipo hybrids ready in time and oil prices will keep soaring for at least a few years. The KLR with the big tank will be worthwile even waiting in long gas lines...though one might consider the IMS tank, too but I don't think it is lockable. The plugin Lipo Hybrid will put tremendous demands on the power grid and coal prices will continue to soar. But, the plugin Lipo Hybrids when they are ready will at least make the gas station queues shorter. The plugin Lipo Hybrids will only use their gas engines on very long trips or when you floor it or when you have a full load in the car or when you are going up steep and/or long hills. Unfortunately, the KLR has no room for an electric motor and Lipo battery packs. I wonder if a plugin Lipo Hybrid motorcycle would be feasible. Jeffrey
