Just out of curiousity, what is the need for a side car? If you are wanting more carrying capacity, a single-wheeled trailer has far less influence on the KLR's handling than a side car (a hack drives *entirely* different from a motorcycle). About the only reason to do a side car is if you're going to be riding in ice and snow, when a KLR tends to go down really easily even if you stud some knobbies. _E> as far as the side > car

As an old Hobie Cat sailer, that's a great idea. Get er done. I
always wanted to take an inline 4 bike and make it into a car. Say a
1000 cc inline 4 back behind you like an old Porsche .... what a 914
mid engine type deal????? All you guys get yer welding rigs going. I
was at a custom car show once and they had an old Jim Hall Chaparral
with 2 Yamaha inline 4's on each of the rear wheels. Yeehah! Get er
done.

Err .... I was on a ride recently in the Hill country of Texas
and .... not only ice will bring a KLR down quickly but algae on a
low water crossing ..... I don't even think studs woulda worked. Yes
I went down quickly but nothing broke or ijured. A friend broke his
collar bone on one. We need ice riding skills from Jud up north down
here.

I can see not putting a side car on a KLR but your suggestion of a single wheel trailer sounds good.
Who makes a dual sport touring single wheel trailer? Please do share!

There is a single wheel for sale on one of the lists--about $400 as I recall
(recall not so good someetimes).
