There was a review of a tall windshield in one of the recent DSNs. I threw my copy away. What brand was it? Is there a consensus on whick is the best? Thanks. M

I have the Kawi tall windshield and like it a lot. Combined with the stock handguards, it keeps the rain off pretty well at speed (sends it up to the helmet). Much more comfortable than the unfaired bike I had in college. But keep in mind that the right windshield is a very personal thing. It depends on your height (I'm 6'2" with long legs) and your taste in wind. Be prepared to try out one or two different ones if you are serious about finding one that you like. (I was fortunate that I liked my first choice.) Oftentimes you can find people on the list selling off a shield they didn't like. Doesn't mean it's not a good shield, it just didn't fit that person. I know I'm repeating myself, but if you remove the windshield completely, all the turbulance goes away! -- BIERDO bierdo@... http://www.dirtly.com

Hi Allen, I'm not sure where you meant by the "Dual Sport site;" mine at http://klr6500.tripod.com this group's website at http://groups.yahoo.com/group/DSN_klr650/ or one of the many others, but it's pretty much academic anyway... There's the Kawasaki taller windscreen which *I* have, (thanks Jonathan!), or others offered by Rifle http://www.rifle.com/ and Clearview http://www.clearviewshields.com/prd.htm Which one (height) works best for you depends on your height, and to a lesser degree, the type of riding that you do. I'm 6' and the taller Kaw shield sends the air just across the top of my helmet - if I slouch a bit, I don't feel it at all. It also depends on whether you want to look through the windscreen, or over the top of it... With the links I've provided you should be able to figure out what's the best deal for you. And that's the thing; some people take the windscreen completely off, others have installed really tall ones, so there's really no "one size fits all" kind of answer here. Hey, I was thinking of getting a new higher windshied for my new KLR. What size should I get. I see they have 4", 6", and 10" over stock. I am 6'3", any thoughts or opinions? Thanks, Ron K A16

There is also an 11 in over stock too. I think rifle or clearview makes it. Sorry I don't have any experience with any of them. Joe S. --- In DSN_klr650@yahoogroups.com, "Ron Klimoff" wrote:
