19" front wheel?

Post by Cris » Fri Sep 07, 2007 9:09 pm

Has anyone fitted a 19" front wheel to the KLR650? I use mine (A19) 100% on the road and dislike the 21" rim and would like to lower the bike a bit as well. Any ideas beside selling the bike? thanks, Cris

It's not that difficult to lace up a wheel (I did the ones on my Honda XR650L supermoto conversion), but the truing and tensioning can be tricky. You can send your stock wheel to Buchanan Spoke & Rim in Southern California and they will lace your stock hub with super quality stainless spokes to any rim you want (I'd recommend an Excel rim). They have a website, google for it. They are the best in the biz. -- "Do you think that when they asked George Washington for ID he just whipped out a quarter?" --Steven Wright San Francisco, CA

I'm going to do the same thing so I can go tubeless. Does anybody know a source for 2.5 x 19 38h and 4.5 x 17 38h, tubeless rims?? Black would be a nice touch too. ww
