clutch problem - need advice

Post by gmay131313 » Fri Aug 03, 2007 7:14 am

I don't have a manual in front of me to look at but since you have the clutch cover off the motor and all seems ok from what you describe a problem I had in the past actually a couple of times with a couple of old two strokes was the large nut that holds the clutch basket on coming slightly loose which allowed the basket to move in and out a little when you pulled in the clutch preventing the clutch from disengaging..hope this is the case for you as this is and easy fix. If I remember right there was a tab washer behind this nut on these bikes that you bend over the flat on the nut like just like on the countershaft sprocket. On these bikes, one a kawasaki triple and the other a Can-Am I think this washers was never properly bent over the nut at the factorywhich allowed the nut to turn. Have a great day....Greg --- In DSN_KLR650@yahoogroups.com, "bradster62" wrote:
