One other warning... Loctite will make regular "sportbike" plastic very brittle and cause it to crack around the screw holes. I damaged bodywork on two different bikes, a Honda and a Kawi before I learned this tidbit. The old KLR tupperware doesn't care, but the 08 stuff might. RM

looking to buy a klr in san francisco

Hey gang, I've lusted after the KLR ever since I sold the NX650 I learned to ride on six years ago. The perfect utilitarian practicality, versatility, reliability, and repairability (that's not a word is it?) are hugely attractive to me. But I could never quite justify it. Now, I'm finally ready to take the plunge and drop some cash. So does anyone have a KLR for sale around the San Francisco Bay Area? Or know of one for sale? I'm flexible on age and condition. I'd be ok with an older model to try out before I make a major investment, but if I can find a good deal on a newer model, I'd be thrilled. So what have you? Cheers, Reed Kennedy SF, CA
