My thoughts go out to the folks that survived the hugh tornado in Greensburg Kansas. I farmed not far from Greensburg and have witnessed one of mother natures grand events. We had a tornado hit the farm this year and have witnessed them from afar but never seen this much damage this close. People often wonder why anyone would want to live in Tornado Alley. The answer is because that is where Home is. I am sure some will leave Kansas because of this one tornado but Kansas is still a good place to live with good hardworking folk that live there. The survivors of this event can use all our support. The Red Cross will gladly take your financial contributions at http://www.redcross.org/ Fred www.arrowheadmotorsports.com [Non-text portions of this message have been removed]

Damn skippy, Fred--right on, and thanks for the nice note. Those F5 twisters don't leave much behind. The Salvation Army also appears to be on-scene: The Salvation Army continues to respond after weekend storms tore through Kansas killing at least 10 people and nearly obliterating the town of Greensburg. Salvation Army emergency disaster services teams, including two emergency disaster mobile feeding units (canteens), were deployed immediately. The canteens are capable of feeding up to 2,000 people a day. Dee Smith, emergency disaster services director for The Salvation Army in Kansas and Western Missouri said, "Basically we're out there doing an assessment of the needs and will provide basic services making sure people have shelter, food, medicines and anything else they might need. We will be in place to assist the community for as long as we are needed." Salvation Army officers (ministers) are providing emotional and spiritual care to residents and first responders responding to the horrific storms. Monetary donations may be sent your local Salvation Army earmarked Disaster Relief, made online at www.salvationarmyusa.org or by calling 1-800-SAL-ARMY. --Blake, who grew up in Topeka -- Blake Sobiloff http://sobiloff.typepad.com/blakeblog/> http://sobiloff.typepad.com/klr_adventure/> San Jose, CA (USA) [Non-text portions of this message have been removed]

I'm with you Fred. I have personally witnessed 2 in my home town of Wichita Falls Texas growing up there. Those 2 killed about 5 or 10 people each. After I moved away from there, they had a big one in the mid seventies that went from one end of town to the other killing about 43 people and making what it hit look like Hiroshima. It took out my wife's house she grew up in and barely missed mine. Most of the people killed were running from it in their cars. The car is a bad place to be if you can't get away from it ..... but a standard house is also if it is an F5. The only thing you should be in is an underground storm shelter. One of them is going to hit Dallas / Fort Worth during afternoon rush hour one of these days (which is usually the standard time they hit) and it won't be pretty. A tornado went through downtown Waco in the fifties and killed about 250 people (I think). The death tole could potentially be far worse. I'm afeared of em now (but don't have a storm shelter). [[ possible spam ]] [dsn_klr650] front brake upgrade

Post by Paul Griffin » Thu May 10, 2007 2:17 am

Greg The twin piston caliper from the c model or the tengai for that matter will not fit. The holes are mounting different. I contacted WGE (ebc disty) and they said they would have to get one in from Europe? And they had no idea on cost until it was on its way. If ever I decide to get one I think direct from the usa will be the way to go. I have got a few things in from Fred at Arrowhead and it's not too bad. Postage is the killer. The "C" model appears to have one already. Does this caliper fit and does it have any great affect on braking performance. I suspect the rotor may be the same as the Tengai at 290mm. In Australia, the local EBC distibutor has no listing for a 320 rotor kit for the KLR. Is there a serial / part number that you guys have over there that may help. I guess it may be easier to import from US. Thanks.
