I'm thinking of making an offer on a BMW K100 that's in good shape but it's been little used
for 2 years. I know airheads don't do well when they sit. My brother bought a R100 that had
only 20k miles but hadn't been run for a number of years. He had to install rings. K engines
are pretty much bullet proof. Do you guys think I should be concerned about corrosion or
some other problem ?

k bike sitting nklr
I'll reply to my own post to clarify. I got a email from someone who thought I was asking
about airheads. Perhaps I should have been clearer. I've heard airheads don't do well if the
bikes aren't ridden. In particular, I know airhead cylinders don't do well if the bike sits too
long. I was wondering if the K bikes do better in this respect in general and the cylinders
in particular since the cylinders are coated.
