new to me 2004

I just got a 04 KLR to go along with an 04 DL1000. I am trying to come up with necessary items I need to do and need opinions. Bike has 1500 miles on it and I changed the oil & filter and put on new tires. Plan real soon to change the doohickey, check valves, progressive springs, magnetic low profile oil plug, add luggage carrier for soft luggage. What else would be a must do and what else is a like to do in time? Thanks in advance

You have a pretty good start there. Nothing is really a "must do". Re-do the weld on the shift lever, or replace the shifter, and just ride the bike. Read the KLR650.net and the archives here; your riding style will dictate what you want to do to the bike.

I hate to say it, but get a harley, probably larger than a sportster, have the deer or moose behind you, tie a dew rag to its head and noone would probably be the wiser! Andy A16 KLR650 Reformend Harley Rider
