klr engine whistle (not gas-cap)... what, why, where?

Post by bensherwyn » Wed Aug 23, 2006 2:28 pm

Hello all, I'm assuming this has been addressed in previous posts (though my search proved fruitless). What is that whistling sound that comes from the engine? Why do some KLRs have it really bad? Is harmful? What can be done to prevent it? Just curious... Thanks, Ben

corbin seats: two qs

1. I am buying the European version of the KLR. I gather it varies in some ways from the North American model. Does anyone happen to know if the standard Corbin seat fits the European model? 2. Generally, does the Corbin seat tend to make two-up riding better, worse or no different than the stock seat? Thanks Phil ________________________________ From: DSN_KLR650@yahoogroups.com [mailto:DSN_KLR650@yahoogroups.com] On Behalf Of Rick Sent: August 23, 2006 3:18 PM To: DSN_KLR650@yahoogroups.com Subject: [BULK] [DSN_KLR650] Trouble Mounting Corbin Flat Seat on my 06 Importance: Low I was just trying to put my Corbin Flat seat on my 06 when I saw that the front flange is shaped different that the factory seat. The factory flange has a U cut in it to go around the tank vent hoses. After measuring I see there is enough room to go below where the factory mount was. Problem is the vent tubes are still in the way. Before I go notching the Corbin has anyone else had this issue. I can push it on but the rebound seems like its from those hoses and I don't want to crimp them. Thanks [Non-text portions of this message have been removed]
