adjustable front brake lever options?

Just venting here but I cannot get those friggin Distanzias to seat the bead on my KLR rims - tried everything: soap, dish soap, WD-40, tire lube, motor honey, melted cheese, all things slippery - still no pop onto the rim - they just won't quite do it - I can lift the bead where it was low and then the low spot moves to the other side of the tire - carumba !!! These are some tight dogs indeed. Anyone had sucess / failure stories to share?

How much air are you putting them ? Mine popped up with 25 or less

Hi NED, Not specifically with Distanzias, but when you had the tire off, was there a lot of old tire residue on the wheel, black gummy stuff, and did you clean it off? Sometimes the gummy residue keeps the tire from moving out on the rim smoothly and from seating. The last tire I did was under the supervision of Coach Saline, and I can tell you, a clean rim was a lot easier to seat the bead than the previous time, when I did it, and ignored the gummy residue. Some time ago, I heard someone else describe this, and finally rode the tire without the bead being fully seated (I WOULD BE VERY LEARY OF DOING SO>>>JUST REPEATING WHAT THEY DID) I think it was a trail side repair. They indicated that it seated a short time later. YES, YMMV greatly with this last ditch effort. What is not known to me, is how much danger you are in in pinching a tube, riding on it when the bead would not seat. or worse. Others for comment? Trail side, I would go for it, because I already know that I am not going to push the green pig much further than -out-of- the-roadway, contray to anothers suggestion that they would not push it more than 5-6 miles. revmaaatin.
