any changes for 2007 ???????

Hello, I wanted to know a couple of thing: 1) Are there any KLR riding clubs or groups around the Monterey, CA area. I like to ride my KLR whenever I get a chance but it would be nice to also ride with a group as well. 2) In about a week and a half I am going to ride from Monterey to the Grand Canyon on my KLR (729 mi each way). I just bought all of the Wolfman Alfa bags, gps, camping stuff,stove and hydration gear. Any tips on what else I need? This is my first long distance trip. Thank, GS
