Steve,
You got me thinking about the very same thing when I go cross county
this summer.
I looked into the database area of the web site and found a table
called "complete phone book"
While it is not dedicated soley as a list of those willing to put up
fellow riders and/or help out with mechanical issues, there are a lot
of folks (myself included) that noted that they are willing to do so.
If you are reading this and have not added yourself to the list why
not take 5 minutes and add yourself? With 6,000 members this could
become a really valuable resourse for riders on the road that may need
one form of assistance or another.

I'm going around the US starting off next weekend. I plan on staying in the KOA "Kabins", (I just hate that cutesy shit). About $40, bring your own bedding. You can get 10% off with the purchase of a "Kard" from KOA.
From Madawaska I'm headed for Cornerbrook then to Ucluelet, I'll be camping on the Canadian part of the trip, but staying in the Kabins will save a lot of time over a two week trip.
You can find out all about the KOA on their website.
Enjoy yourself

In many places in the Southwest you can get a motel room for about that -
sometimes a little less.

I only met Bill at Mr. Moose's wrench fest, but I have my own reasons for sympathizing
with anyone who gets down enough to take his own life. My best to all who knew him
well.
And my thanks to Mr. Moose. Alannah and I got back from that weekend, back into the
rush of daily life, and I never did properly thank him, and Mike, and Tim, and Lurch, and
all the others who were so kind to us both, and so helpful. I just looked at the pictures for
the first time and it really took me back.
Val has moved to the southwest, with and on her KLR, and very happy. She did her
own valve adjustment, by herself with just some emailed help from our
local guru Dave B.
Anyway, while the rest of us are still around, just let me say thanks again.
