I find it interesting that with all the different motorcycle, diesel, atv
and gas specific oils on the market that this is a" can of worms".All
any person has to go on is the recommended spec by the mfg.these have
to meet the A.P.I.standards.I have been using Synthetics since
1979,before most peaple knew of them.I like mobil1 and amsoil. The
mobil1 was my first and still favorite all around oil.I had a 91 ford
explorer that I changed oil and filter on every 15.000 miles and drove
136.000, much of which was towing a 4000 ib trailer. After trade in the
dealer mechanic thought I had flushed the engine. he said the valve
covers were shiny bright and the compression was at specs for new.since
then I have had many trucks and cars and change once a year or 15,000
miles on all of them using mobil1 or full synthetics. With 7 times
greater film strengh,5 times greater shear strengh,3 times greater
thermal resistance to breakdown(one of the major killers of oil),I dont
know why I would use petroleum distillets.synthetics are simply better
