I too have a new KLR with the PD Nerf bar problem. I had it installed
by the dealer. Right fork makes contact with the top horizontal
rail. Has anyone figured out what the fix is? If anyone has an
answer, I'd greatly appreciate it.
Thanks.
P.S. This is a fantastic forum. Lots of knowledge can be found
here.

pd nerf bar fit problem
I just looked at my KLR with PD nerf bars. I put them on in Dec and the
right fork also contacts the bar when turned to the right. I have not
looked to see how far it is from the fork stop when it hits.
It looks like you would have to cut the tab off the bar and re-weld it
in a new position to stop it from hitting

If the genuine HT version, has anyone called Mr. Tim and see what he recommends?

I installed mine almost a year ago at CMC. I never even noticed this problem till it was brought up some time ago. I went and checked and the right fork tube does make contact, but just. With slight pressure I can still use the steering lock. It has never been a concern when riding. Just my 2 cents worth.> >> answer, I'd greatly appreciate it. > >> >
