problem solved.

Post by Jim » Sat Nov 05, 2005 12:36 pm

Once in a while when I turned the key to start my bike I did not get the green neutral light although the tranny was in N and tapping the starter did nothing. Often turning the key again or after a minute or two the light would come and and everything was normal. Another symptom, as the bike was running with the sidestand down it would stumble and sometimes stall but run fine with the stand up. I check the sidestand switch and it was fine and I also checked and cleaned the started relay connections with no response. So yesterday I found the problem. The connection under the front sprocket guard that connects the neutral indicator switch was loose. The connector was sloppy and the N light would flicker when I moved it. So I crimped the connector and it fit much tighter and voila problem solved. --Jim A-15

2003 klr 4 sale

Howdy ya'll this is Roy in Texas. I used to live my life on this board about 4 years ago. I recently bought a town house with limited parking and I'm thinking about selling my KLR. It's a 2003. It has happy-trails PD-nerf bar. Ninja 600 master cylinder guard. Moose bash plate and a JC Whitney travel trunk. 13,000 miles. It has never been dropped. This one has been used primarily for commuting, mostly highway miles. It has Metzler Tourance tires in good condition with heavy duty inner tubes (and slimed). I'm asking $3000.00 I just pulled this off kelly's site: November 5, 2005 2003 Kawasaki KL650-A17 KLR650 1-Cylinder 4-Stroke 651cc Suggested Retail Value $3495 The Kelley Blue Book Suggested Retail Value is representative of dealers' asking prices and is the starting point for negotiation between a consumer and a dealer. This Suggested Retail Value assumes that the unit has been fully reconditioned and is in excellent condition. Mileage/condition and additional equipment may have a substantial impact on the value shown above. This value also takes into account the dealers' profit, costs for advertising, sales commissions and other costs of doing business. The final sale price will likely be less depending on the unit's actual condition, popularity, type of warranty offered and local market conditions. I think I'm asking a fair price considering the miles. Let me know if anyone is interested. I'm in Waco Texas. -Thanks Roy
