Hi guys, thought some of you might be able to shed some light on a little mystery. I just got a '72 Honda CB350 twin. Cool little bike. I tried the kickstarter, but didn't feel any compression. When I put it in gear on the centerstand, the kickstarter turned the wheel, but still felt no compression. Bummer, I thought, but the motor looked great and I thought there HAS to be compression. So I pulled off the round cover on the left engine case to have a look. Using the kickstarter or turning the rear wheel in gear wasn't turning the engine. Using a sprocket on the engine nut (alternator?), I was able to turn the engine over and felt good compression. So therefore the mystery - why would turning the rear wheel in gear not turn the engine? Why doesn't the kickstarter turn the engine over (but does turn the rear wheel)? My only guess is the clutch is pulled in and stuck in that position? Would that even make sense? All you old bike nuts, need your help on this one! Thanks in advance!

Serjo it sounds like the primary drive is non existant either broken( missing primary chain ) or a locating key missing if its a gear primary drive. Could be no plates in the clutch basket I would doubt that the clutch has stuck in its usually the other way round eg wont release. Hope this helps Dave P Seroj wrote:
