I have a 1997 KLR650X (KLX fork conversion) that has run it's course...
The bad stuff first. The engine doesn't run at all - I suspect it's the top end
because I was unable to do valve adjustments after the frame got slightly bent
(didn't want to pull the whole engine to check 'em) but it could be anything
(still don't want to pull the whole engine to check). The engine cases are
cracked in a spiderweb styleee and held together with 3 tubes of Quiksteel
around the drain plug.
The good stuf is pretty much everything else: carb, subframe, swingarm
(cosmetic damage), rear wheel, the KLX front end, starter motor, front and
rear brake systems (front is for the KLX front end of course), plastic (not in mint
condition), exhaust system, rear shock w/ progressive spring, gas tank (re-
welded on lower seam but no leaks, seat, headlight and electrical system,
and everything that didn't blow up in the engine.
I also have a spare set of wheels for this bike (KLR rear and KLX front), an
extra swingarm, 1 or 2 extra stock seats, and one Corbin (dished) with a tear
along the seam.
Take it all for $1400.
I'd like to sell it all together but will consider parting it out if no one is
interested. Delivery is possible within 4 hours of southern VT.

nklr(?) fred's for real.
See if I can get my post to post this time...
I have been a lurker under several names throughout the ownership of 5
KLR650s. I placed my first order with Fred @ Arrowhead maybe 2 weeks
ago. The result from that initial experience spurred me to attempt
posting on the board, I wanted to share my experience but did
something wrong and my post never made it. I placed my second order
late last night, like after midnight late. Woke up 7a, checked my
email..Fred had already shipped my order???!!! O.k. so 7 non-buisness
hrs later and on a Saturday no less this guy comes through. My first
order arrived a day before it was actually expected. This order was
sent before I even ate breakfast the next day. Beyond professional. He
deserves all the buisness he can handle and then some. I will not buy
from anyone else, and hope that anyone reading this and looking for
parts uses him too. He is a great asset to this board and to the
motorcycling community. Appreciate and take advantage of this fact.
