big gun exhaust

Post by Ryan Bottesi » Sat Sep 09, 2000 8:34 pm

Finally got my Big Gun exhaust after about a two month wait. It fit perfectly. It only took about 20 min. to remove stock pipe, install Big Gun, and K& N air filter. The end caps are bolted in instead of riveted so repacking of the muffler should very easier. I only rode the bike about a mile, but the low end power improvement was incredible, 1st gear wheelies by just rolling on the throttle. The race core is very loud. I have the quiet core and will install it in the future. Should I rejet the carb? If yes, what size jets. Thanks Ryan '99 Cagiva Gran Canyon '99 KLR 650 '96 Gas Gas JTR 270

Anyone using the Big Gun Race Series exhaust? If so, any carb mods needed? Sean Tuffbob@...

Hi, I use the Big Gun race series, you will need to rejet, there are different options. On the KLR I am using the dyno jet kit with a 150 main, needle in the 4th groove, pilot screw 2 3/4 turns out. This is on the rich side of things, 140 main and 3rd groove woyuld be better for me. You could also use the KLX R jets and needle on the KLR. Also the air box mods. I also use the race sytem on the KLX, with the KLX R needle in 3rd groove and 142 main, pilot at 2 1/2 this is almost an ideal mixture setting, the KLX has more torque and HP than a KLR. These settings should work for starters, then fine tune. Brian KLR A14 KLX C1 TE 410E Honolulu, HI [Non-text portions of this message have been removed]

I have one complete Big Gun exhaust system, never mounted, still in wrapper for the KLR Sis Fiddy. Cost is 295.00. If interested, just let me know. Tom K. [Non-text portions of this message have been removed]

a trials bike. Very cool, but not tweety. I'd love to see your pic's.

Try the later version of my email. It has the complete link to each pic. I wish that were me but I can't remember who it is anymore the pic name is "san_pons.jpg" which might be a clue to someone. I've had my website the same for years and primarily use it to transfer pics and files to my kids and others like the KLR list. Alan Henderson A13 Iowa
