I'm curious as to what has been effective ways to give the KLR a
diet. Does the IMS tank weigh less? Is there much difference with an
aftermarket exhaust? Anything else?
Thanks in advance.

klr dies will not say at idle
The other day I was coming home from work, all of a sudden my KLR 650
dies while sitting at a light. I started it back up and took off, it
ran fine while on the throttle but as soon as I would stop it
wouldn't
stay at idle and would die. I finally got it started again and took
off and finally made it home. So I took the stocker battery out and
noticed the water level was at the minimum line. So I added
distilled
water and got the level back up to just below max. I put the battery
on a 2 amp charge all night, it definately was taking a charge. I
also went ahead and cleaned the air filter loosened the tank and
pulled the spark plug and cleaned it up. The next morning I put it
all back together and it started right up and ran fine. Anyhoo I
guess the dam battery was the culprit. So the next time the KLR will
not stay at idle check the battery (lesson learned).
Thanks, Bryan Dolan
