With aoplogies to Buster Poindexter.............. While in Tucson in July a couple of years ago broiling in my First Gear jacket, I purchased a Joe Rocket Phoenix jacket and gloves. It's heavy duty mesh (I bought hi viz yellow) with the appropriate padding. It cost around $120, plus gloves. I've been very happy with it. If I'm out awhile and think it will become cooler, I'll bring a windshirt to wear underneath. I've been VERY satisfied with it.
