I have a hitch carrier that I use on the back of a Durango. In order to load it I back it up over the curb and drive the Durango up onto front tire ramps then "drive" the KLR up onto the rack while standing beside it. If you have a hill or similar you can back the rack into it and just ride the bike onto it. The curb thing is a bit of a PITA but it works. Craig A18 San Jose

It's 5' x 2' so is not big enough, but I planned to bolt a 6' channel for the bike. How do you load the bike? Do you carry a length of plan for a ramp or similar? Is it easy enough to get the bike up there and support it while you are attaching the tie-downs?

I used mineral oil. Old thermostat switches contains a bit but It's pretty bad stuff to fool with. George Escondido, CA Thomas Komjathy wrote:
