Hello Everyone,
My 2003 klr, which until today has run flawlessly, now leaks fuel from the
carburetor overflow hose when it's running. And when I say running, I mean
burping, smoking, farting and generally misbehaving.
Last night when I returned from an early season ride - I'm in the Yukon - I
hit some ice in my own driveway and went down. No damage to speak of, just
some scratches to the right shroud, but now the thing spews fuel and won't
idle. I've had a couple get-offs that were far more kinetic than what
happened last night, resulting in nothing more than laughter from my riding
buddies, so I'm a little non-plused as to what is going on inside the carb
after this little tip-over. Any ideas?
Thanks.
Lyle.

carburetor is overflowing!
Pop the carb and check the float. I was riding my 600 hit a bump short while
later it stalled, could not start it at all.
Got off and it was like I had opened the bowl drain, fuel poured out. Tap
the bowl a few times and it stopped, the bike fired up. I think the float
gets stuck sometimes and so it floods and / or runs like crap.

Also, consider a Navman GPS with mapping software that also just plugs into
a cigarette lighter.
http://www.navmanusa.com/product.asp?pn=AA005600
It has all the trip functions and accurate speed but also will show major
and minor roads down to tracks and trails.
Exceptionally good. You also use it as a fully functional PDA.
