1) I recently purchased the renthal desert vintage high bar to
replace the stock handle bars on my 99 KLR. I bought these bars
because according to the measurements given by the KLR FAQ and
Renthal, these bars were over an inch taller than the stock bars.
Since I spend alot of time off road I wanted the extra height for
standing. When I finally got the stock bars off and held them up to
the new renthal bars I was very dissappointed to find that the stock
bar was a full 1/2 inch TALLER than the Renthal. I double checked
the renthal model number and measurements and I got what I ordered.
The bar is wider than stock and the sweep is less, but the height is
way off. Can anybody explain this?
2) Has anybody used the 18mm handlebar raiser from Eagle? If so
what are your impressions?
Thanks for your replies,
Garr

renthal desert vintage high bar
I just bought an extra set of stock bar clamps (the piece that clamps down
on the bars) and put them under the bars as a spacer, some longer bolts and
voila. Cheap and works great.

renthal desert vintage high bar
The Renthal Desert Vintage bend handlebars are as close to the stock KLR
dimensions as you will find in an aftermarket aluminum handlebar. The
ProTaper SE ATV Mid bend handlebars are about an inch taller than stock but
they have some less pull back.
The Eagle risers will raise and move the handlebars closer to you about
3/4".
