20th anniversary get-together
I know I'm not the first to think of this, how about we all get
together for a 20th anniversary party, we could break some kind of
record for the most of a single make/model bike in one place. I
think that Texas would be a great place (because I'm here of course)
but I'm willing to ride to one of these. Think of the Julian Tech
possibilities, Happy Trails, Dual Star and the like could come and
sell some stuff. Anyone want to put this together?

Well, we do get together every year for the past 5 or 6 at least out at
Fred's in Utah.

20th anniversary get-together
I would love to go to UTAH (and will someday) and ride, but due to time and $ I would not be able to make such a trip in the near future. I live in Texas also and would love to see something more central to everyone. New Mexico, Arkansas, Oklahoma... Anyone else have some ideas. I know I am not the only KLR rider from the central and eastern states that would love to be more involved but just can not make such a long trip.

Southern New Mexico would be great, Alamogordo, Ruidoso, Roswell,
and the Sacramento Mountains. There are a bunch of roads, paved and
dirt, as gentle and as nasty as you would desire to ride, trails
everywhere. They have two huge bike rallys in Ruidoso in May and
September. Look at a map, you may want to visit anyway. Race in the
desert, stop for lunch and ride to 11,500 ft in the same day. Just
another possibility.

Somebody good with that longatuide, latitude stuff tell us where the
center is between NY and CA.
I think from eastern ME to westen CA the the middle would be
somewhere around where SD,NE,IA. come together. About 1450 miles and
1500 from there to the tip of FL.
So if you build it they will come.

Geographic center of the continental USA is in Lebanon, Kansas.
Are there places to ride there?

Lessee, we had guys from Texas, Colorado, Minnesota, Wisconsin, South Dakota, Georgia, Pennsylvania, Indiana, Illinois, New York: Utah must be a pretty central location. From Minnesota, it may be closer than Texas. There are some guys on KLR650.net who are cooking up a gathering in SW Missouri for September.> > Ron Criswell wrote: > > Well, we do get together every year for the past 5 or 6 at least out at > Fred's in Utah. > > Criswell

I reckon that Honolulu should do nicely, halfway between North America
and Australia
Gavin
