kawasaki tall windshield

Post by Craig Loseke » Thu Jan 11, 2001 1:45 am

I was browsing thru the www.buykawasaki.com site and found that they had a taller windshield listed. Item# K46001-085 says it is 4" taller and 4" wider than the stock one for $77. Has anyone tried these out? Do they have the habit of breaking at the mounts like the Rifle and Clearview? Just wondering. Craig A15 P.R.U.A.V.

I have had mine from day one and like it.  It does not give protection anywhere near my Connie's but it is far better than the stock little one. It's about as good as you can get on a dualsport.  It has not cracked at all and has seen extended driving in heavy winds and lots of freeway riding too.   It sure helps when the temps are down too! I've had the Kaw tall windscreen on my A12 for several thousand miles now. From an interstate highway run to the LA-Barstow to Vegas off-road jaunt, and everything in between, no problems to report. At 5'8" it might be a tad short for me what with some helmet buffeting, but its quite tolerable. Your buffeting may vary. Craig, I have one of the tall Kawasaki windshields and have been very happy with it. Some folks find it has too much turbulance, I find it just about perfect. (BTW, I am 6'2"). Fit and finish are great, no problems. Ralph Ralph E. Hanson rhanson40@... 99 KRL 650 http://www.wvu.edu/~journal2

I like my Brake! LED tail light also. Besides the better visibility of a flashing light, the two biggest selling points to me were the reduced amps and the reported longevity of the LEDs. One thing I do NOT want to happen is for me to be riding along at night with an (unknownst to me) non-functioning tail light. Randy

I understand that kawasaki has a tall windshield. Does anyone have one, if so how do you like it and how much does it cost? [Non-text portions of this message have been removed]
