First, I've never posted to any message board ever so I apologize for
any message blunders. I am a brand new member of the group and today
I got a new to me 1999 KLR650 w/ 14K on the clock for <$2K. The
machine runs awesome, but it is missing the most of the plastic. The
previous owner had 2, 1999 KLR650's and took the plastic off of the
one he sold to me to repair the one he kept. Both radiator shrouds
are missing and the right side panel is gone too. I've searched all
over for replacement plastics, but there doesn't seem to be
anything. I priced them new at my local Kawasaki dealership for
around $300. I'll keep my eye on Ebay, but does anyone know anywhere
else I may find cheap new or used plastic for my KLR 650. Thanks in
advance for the help.

new plastics?
Check with F1 Engineering http://www.f1engineering.com/. They build the U.S. Marine KLR and sell off the takeoffs. They had 2002 & 2003 radiator shrouds for $85.00 and the fairing for $50.00.

new plastics?
You can try Ron Ayers. This link will take you to their on line parts
fiche for the KLR; just choose your year, accept their "agreement" and
find your parts:

Do keep an eye on eBay- the parts you're looking for will eventually
turn up. I don't think the year matters, as those parts should fit all
years- only a change in color between the years.
