Hi All,
I'm new to the list, and am looking to purchase a KLR sometime very soon.
I have been riding on the street for 19years, and this is the year a couple
of friends have talked me into taking an off-road Ghost Town Tour in and
around the Sierra. (They will be riding a KLR and an F650)
So, to help my search I was wondering if anyone could recommend other KLR
resources, like devoted websites, maybe a good place to find a good used
KLR, that sort of thing. I'd also be grateful for any other suggestions you
might have; I've seen in the past just how much great experience and
information you guys have.
I've enjoyed reading the posts of the past few days, and it convinces me
that this is THE place to be for KLR riders.
Looking forward to the good times off road.
Thanks.
Chuck

Hi Chuck,
Welcome to the list and good luck on your KLR purchase. You won't
need much room for a KLR, because you'll always be out riding it !!!

Chuck,
I perused cycletrader.com and eBay for a couple of years before I eventually found, and 'won' my '02 (A16) in Jan. '03. It was on eBay and wound up being approx. 275 miles from my home. I was planning on going in that general direction anyway for a w/e 'ride,' so I just left a little earlier and deviated my route somewhat, dragging a trailer along - JIC.
There are plenty of sites around and the following have plenty of links to choose from:
http://www.angelfire.com/ut/moab/index.html
http://www.bigcee.com/
http://klr6500.tripod.com/links.htm
There are others; these were just handy.
Good luck in your decision. I can almost assure you that the KLR will be ahead of the line sitting next to the door.

for a KLR = = = = reply = = = = = Chuck, If you're going ghost town hunting on 2-wheels in the Eastern Sierra, be sure to check out the ride reports from the last Eastern Sierra Rendezvous (ESR) last September. In particular, our leader, guide & trail-boss Pat Schmid, posted an excellent ride report and Moose & Larry posted some great pics. See post #'s 120385, 120395 & 120403. Have fun - BRING YOUR CAMERA! Hey, Pat. Thanks for the suggestion. I found the ride report and photos with a quick Google. Looks like you guys had a blast! And it looks like what we want to be doing as well. Thanks, Sandy. Think I'll wait for the snow and ice to melt off the roads, though> Hi Chuck, > > Welcome to the list and good luck on your KLR purchase. You won't > need much room for a KLR, because you'll always be out riding it !!! > > Sandy / Texas
