windshield q? for 6'1" +/- 1" riders,

Post by Eduardo » Thu Jan 06, 2005 12:16 am

Any 6'2" riders cut the stock windshield 1.5" shorter and noticed a decrease in buffeting at the helmet? That is where the curved up portion starts. In full dirt guise my windshield is off and buffeting is never an issue at any speed. Now in touring mode I gots a gps, radio and a portable DVD player (ok, scratch the last one) that need some protection from the elements yet I want to remain "buffeting-less" at the helmet w/o going to the ridiculously tall windshields. Any successful windshield experience you can share will be greatly appreciated. Eduardo A14 (mutating)

Is this a humor post? I am 6'2" as well - I use a Clearview 11+ (aka 10+, 10.5+) replacement shield. Cooler months I use the OEM shield, otherwise I bought/got donated a heavy scratched one that I cut basically in half. Mounted the bottom, then overlap the top to the back of the bottom piece with just the recurve part sticking out it seems just fine to me even with a MX helmet, but I avoid highways as much as possible.
