tank bag: is the cheap one ok???

Post by seapro20 » Tue Dec 28, 2004 3:57 pm

I've seen this simple tank bag for 39.99 at various websites for the KLR. Just want something simple and serviceable. Does anyone have it? Don't expect a great product just a useable one. Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Ya, once the clouds/storm goes away I'll take a look - man, we have multi-lillion dollar event scheduled for New Years and 300,000+ people all praying that the weather clears in a few days. Thanks for the reminder to check the skys! This line-up is described in some detail at the Griffith Observatory Sky Report at http://www.GriffithObs.org/skyreport.html (with two graphics) and at SpaceWeather.Com at http://spaceweather.com (with a wonderful photo taken yesterday morning). FIVE PLANETS: On Christmas morning and every morning after that for more than a week, you can step outside at dawn and find the five brightest planets (Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter and Saturn) sprawled across the sky. It's a beautiful display easily seen without a telescope. Visit http://spaceweather.com for sky maps and pictures. And don't forget Comet Machholz, now easily visible in binoculars from within the city (and naked-eye from dark locations) during the mid and late evening. Observing details and a finding chart are at the Observatory's Sky Report page and at http://SkyandTelescope.com/news/article_1414_1.asp.

I bought one of those 39.99 expandable black tank bags that you see all over Ebay. I was tickled pink with it for about 3 months, and then the hooks at the bottom that grab the bottom edge of your gas tank started breaking off. They're not a very good plastic. They cracked and fell apart rapidly. Now, the bag sits in a box in my laundry room, doing me no good at all. My attitude, is you get what you pay for. I have not been happy with that particular bag. Just my humble opinion. :) Lance A17 Missouri --- seapro20 wrote:
