klr 650 for sale in the uk

Post by Big Fred » Sun Dec 05, 2004 5:23 am

Hi all. After singing up to the list earlier this year and posting very little to it I have however been popping on here to see what has been going on and after the 1 or 2 questions I have asked I found out what the doohickey was, although at first I was baffled. I bought my wife a very nice LKR 650 for her to ride but she has found it a bit too high and is not that confident on it so therefore we have decide to sell it as she only rode it about 5 times. It is up for sale on Ebay now, item number is, 4509850512. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=4509850512 Thanks for the info and reading matter over the last few months. Fred UK.

Big Fred I'll take the bike and wife off your hands for free. All I need is the airfare to England... I grew up there as a child/teenager in a USAF family, RAF Fairford/ BrizeNorton, Upper Heyford. Many times these days I wish I lived over there. I expect England is what made me who I am today. To this day while on two wheels I find myself wondering if I'm on the correct side of the road! Freaking wish we yanks would get with the programme and use roundabouts instead of stupid redlights. Eco-Nazis are you listening, roundabouts save energy.

I've been watching ebay, among other places, lately for KLRs and similar bikes, and spotted your auction earlier this morning. Good to see you're on the list! Are there any other UK listers out there? Your wife's bike looks sweet but I'm a bit too far away (Nottingham). It's going to be outside my price range as well, unless I decide to splurge again ;) Anyone out there in the East Midlands with a cheap KLR for sale, let me know, might just be interested. I need to get my bike test done (last time I rode was 16 years ago :O) ), and having a KLR sitting around quietly scolding me for being so lazy might be just the motivation I need! Cheers Phil

supertrapp woes

Greetings, Thought I'd share a muffler tale. They say talking about these things is supposed to make you feel better....... My bike, '97, came used with a supertrapp IDS2, supercrapp to some of youse, when I bought it. I never much had to fuse with it but, as always, I end up doing so because I like to make things hard on myself. I decided I would like to subtract some rings to get it running somewhat quieter. There's only those 3 little bolts back there, right? They're a little tight, squirt a little PB Blaster (great stuff by the way) and one breaks !!!! The other two just keep spinning around and around (studs broke from plate on other side)! Jesus-Joseph-Mary!!! What to do??? I pound baffle out and weld new studs on. Put three rings on, start it up and it sounds good. Everything is good again. I take off for work and halfway there...bam-a-bam-a-bam!!!...I see the core in my mirror being run over by the gravel truck behind me! Did I forget to put that bolt back in that holds the baffle in place?!? Oh shit! Do I turn around and straight pipe it home or go to work???? I keep going towards work with everybody giving me the stink eye (how come Harley's sound just as loud and it's OK?). I pull off on my off ramp and just notice a CHP on the other side writing a ticket to someone (first time I ever saw one here since riding this route). I cut the engine and coast to the side of the overpass and pretend I'm having some engine trouble (well, I guess I am in a way). He gets done writing his ticket and looks my way with a suspicous glare. Oh shit, he's going to come this way and tell me to get the hell off the bridge, I'll have to start it back up and he'll immediately write me a fix-it! He starts coming my way and, at the last second, turns back on to the freeway. Shissa! I try as quietly as possible (right) ride through the upscale neighborhood. Dogs are barking at me, seniors are glaring at me in disgust (though they seem to always do this) and the schoolboys are motioning for me to do a wheelie! I make it to work and boss wants to know what-the-f**k was making all the noise outside? I said it must have been one of those Harley guys going by. He mutters something about how they should be ticketed!! I concurred....... Bonsall Baron P.S. How do you know what time is bed time at the Michael Jackson Estate? When the big hand touches the little hand.........
