dressed in black

Post by Leising, Christopher A. » Mon Oct 18, 2004 7:42 am

Hi, I'm the "dressed in black" motard. As far as the clear lenses, sorry, I'm sitting at my desk at work and having a senior moment, but I think I got them from Dennis Kirk. They were only a few bucks apiece. I'll check my records to see if that's where they came from. Tires are run-of-the-mill Distanzias. As far as the black paint, it's sherwin williams urethane basecoat and clearcoat. Over Standox 2k plastic primer, and 2k epoxy primer on the tank. I machine buffed it since I took those pictures to take out a bit of orangepeel. And crashed it once since then, but the paint stayed on fine. Chris Leising

While we're at it, who did the muffler mods in the other photo file. I want to talk to you. I did kinda the same thing, but was thinking about going in deeper and wider to get my stock pipe flowing like my Laser Pro Duro off road version. Getchurself a KLR 650 today. I recomend the one Bill Monahan has for sale, it's got nice add-ons like a skid plate, Acerbis Rally Pro handguards, IMS footpegs, Progressive suspension fork springs, old Works shock, explorer tankbag, and Kawi saddlebags, and it's only 1800 bucks. Has almost new Metzeler Karoos, too. It runs perfect and never misses a beat. Wheel bearings checked every time tires were changed. Doohickey inspected and in perfect shape (inspected by Mr. Moose!) Don't miss out. Just had oil and filter changed, and coolant too. Comes with spare drive chain and clutch and choke cable. It's ready to tour. No kidding. (707) 548-9296
