say hello to the new kid!

Hi Guys! Just wanted to introduce myself, now that the NKLR stuff has died down a little. (Yes, I'm on other lists) I just bought a 2000 with only 9xxx miles, which I'm going to pick up Sunday. It's my first D-S, and I'm really thinking that I'll like it. I've ridden on the street for 15 years, but haven't ridden much dirt. My brother has a 2001 that he loves, so he sorta "influenced" me. I love to travel by motorcycle, so I plan on trying it out this fall. I'm also looking forward to buying gadgets for my new toy! Yes, I've read about the doohickey and will make sure that is OK. wd40 okay for oring chains?

If you do this your chain will fly off, your sprockets will explode and the gates of hell will be flung open. Seriously though, that's what I do. Got 20k out of last chain. Charles I use wd 40 just to clean ther chain, scrubbed with tooth brush top and bottom, then I dry it with a rag, then I use Bardall Chain lube, goes on foamy and then hardens. My chain has 6000 miles on it, looks brand new --- Bogdan Swider wrote:
