klr250 problem

Post by wingrj@aol.com » Sun Aug 05, 2001 8:53 pm

High Ya'll We have been having a problem with the electrics of my 250. When I turn on the key the nutral and signal lights come on, and then the temp gage goes to the max reading. The fuses don't blow, it just sits there and nothing else happens. I am still able to start the bike, but the condition continues to exist. We try letting the bike sit for a while, and the condition goes away. Once the conditon no longe shows itself, I am unable to replicate it. So it comes and goes. Has this happened to anyone else? Did you find a fix? How? It looks like the temp sensor is being intermittently grounded. I don't have a KLR 250 but the one on the 650 behaves that way when the lead is disconnected from the sensor and then touched to the engine black. PEter B wingrj@... wrote:
