ids2 repack

Post by cosmo_bojinski@hotmail.com » Fri Jul 27, 2001 5:27 pm

Hi All, got a coupla questions about repacking the IDS2 on my A12.It's been on for a year with 8 discs and has become way louder/harsher.I've never had a repackable exhaust before and even though I still have the original Supertrapp instructions, well, I got confused (hard to believe I know) didn't repack just ended up going down to 5 discs to quieten it (and it did). The anti-seize did its job with the screws and the retaining pin, but,to repack does the complete "guts" get pounded out the outlet of the exhaust? This meant pounding on a wire screen at inlet side, deforming it but nothing else moved. One of the rivets that hold down the supertrapp logo looks like it would prevent the innards sliding out also. Can anyone send me in the right direction?Thanks....cosmo

OK, my SuperTrapp is getting pretty loud, so I bought some packing last night and intend to work on it this weekend. The problem is, I've never done it before, and am not real sure what's involved. I thought SuperTrapp would have at least some info on there website, but they don't. Any tips from the gurus on the list? TIA

I have both the Alpha bag with the duffel and the Wolfman tank bag. Would buy them again if I needed luggage. They hold an amazing amount of "Stuff" Gorm L.
