klr storage

Post by T&M » Sat Mar 31, 2001 7:21 am

Can anyone spare me some advice on how to prep my KLR after being in storage for the last 3 years? It was basically stored in a garage without prep, the gas tank is full and that is about it. It was ridden to there and put up. Can I just change the fluids (gas & oil) charge the battery and precede, or should there be more to it. Thanks! Timan

LMFAO!!! You gotta be kidding !! OK I'll bite ... The battery is finished buy a new one.. The Gas is green and probably sludge .. Drain it .. Fill with new liquid state gasoline. The carbs are blocked .. Clean them and/or get a carb rebuild kit. Yes do an oil change... After this big bill, you should learn to store your bike the proper way. A little gas stabil and a battery tender will save you some money..

I almost forgot. Those tires are probably cracked and dried up, you might want to check them and replace if needed .. (another 200$)
