Believe it or not, I'm one of those guys who has never removed his grips.
How do you do it? Can it be done without destroying them? How do you
put them back on? What are the best replacement grips to dampen the
vibes? I will probably epoxy some lead weights in the bar ends, would
it pay to fill up the remaining volume with caulk, silicone, etc?
There appears to be three different cruise controls out there, what's
the best, cheapest?

If it's the stock grips, I always destroy them. They are glued on there pretty well. How do you> > How do you do it? Can it be done without destroying them?
Hair spray the inside of the grip and slam it on. What are the best replacement grips to dampen the> put them back on?
I really like the ProGrips. I will probably epoxy some lead weights in the bar ends, would> vibes?
I've never gone that route. I put on aluminum bars cause the stockers bend if you sneeze near them. I don't have any vibration/hand problems at all on the bike and I have severe carpal tunnel in my left hand and moderate in my right.> it pay to fill up the remaining volume with caulk, silicone, etc?

I don't know about that. For my cross country trip I took along a "Throttle Rocker" and it works well. But I only used it one day. I don't mind holding on to the throttle. MrMoose A8 (Barbie and Ken special)> the best, cheapest?

Subject: Where to ride?
Hi,
My name is Andrew and I'm new to the list. I live in Alexandria
VA and am planning on getting a KLR650 for a couple of reasons. I
want something new and reliable because my 68 jeep and 79 jeep aren't
that reliable. I want something that is gas friendly; 10mpg Jeeps
suck. I want something new for a change. And I want to have a good DD
in decent weather that I can take off-road (light offroading)
occasionally. My wheeling experience is as follows: ATV Mudding (from
age 12-15) with my relatives in Indiana on a Honda 2wd 300 and a
Honda 4x4 350; 4wheeling a 304v8 79 CJ5 at Rausch Creek and Paragon
Adventure Park in PA.
What I'm wanting to know is if there are any good ATV/Bike trails
around that I could ride on. The closest things I know of to
Alexandria VA are GWNF and the couple of off-road parks in PA. Is
there anything closer to the DC/NOVA area?
Thanks,
-Andrew
