So I tear into the A12 to r & r the sprockets and chain along with the
requisite
lubing of the swingarm and unitrak. I got after market sprockets that fit
perfectly,
but the c/s sprocket doesn't have the rubber wafers on it like the OEM
piece. I believe the rubber makes the chain run quieter.
My question is: is there a big noise difference without the rubber piece?
If so,
I'll probably exchange the sprocket and pay the OEM premium price.
Anybody runnin' bare c/s sprockets?

dualseat extension?
Has anyone tried extending the dualseat farther back into the rack area? My
wife doesn't have enough room with the stock set-up on my 2000 model.
Doesn't need extra width, but wants more space to move around. She has
her own bike, so we don't need to go that direction. I know a KLR isn't the
greatest 2-up MC, but we like it so much in every other respect I'd hate to
trade if we could improve things just a bit. I've modified the stock seat several
times with some success, but doubt any aftermarket seat would help if it didn't
extend farther back. Thanks!
