Thad, Have you ridden in warm / hot weather since you had the bike? It's an unfortunate problem that a vinyl seat and poor air circulation lead to diaper rash, more prowdly know in motorcycle circles as 'monkey butt'. A painfully graphic description!. The best I can suggest is one of the beaded seat overlays like the cabbies often use. They are available in approx. 12" squares with bungee cord to attach to the seat. Best thing short of air conditioned boxers! (Not the BMW) Baby powder is helpful, too and you smell soooo good. klr vs. f650gs dakar
You can buy 2 KLR's for the price of one Dakar with ABS. I'm a BMW rider
and I considered the F650GS, for the fuel injection and ABS brakes, it
wasn't worth it to me to pay twice the price. I bought a KLR, I replaced
the front rotor for a larger one, stainless brake lines, and all
aftermarket KLR accessories are at a fraction of the cost of what you'd pay
for the GS. Having said that, if money is no object, the GS would have been
my choice.
