Was wondering if any one out there had any comments on the Supertrapp IDS 2 Silencers. Thinking about buying one and wanted any advice good or bad. Wanting new exhaust to get rid of tweety bird sound from the stock one, not really interested in performance gains and dont want to rejet if at all possible. Thanks for any comments!

Lightweight, really good low end power (with rejetting), no real gains on top end. A "silencer" in name only, I found the volume annoying even through earplugs. Not very durable. The slightest dent in the canister makes repacking extremely difficult.

Before you drop $225 on the supertrapp, try the tweety mod. You take a huge screwdriver and a hammer, and punch slots in the perforated tube inside the back of the exhaust. Slot it down the whole length, 4 slots evenly distributed around the tube at 12:00, 3:00, 6:00, 9:00. This should eliminate tweety or reduce it by 90%. Devon

The are a good unit. I just replaced my IDS original with an IDS 2 - the original IDS had taken one to many falls. Its louder than the stock pipe, but still quiet enough that I've never been asked to take the sound test at an enduro/dual sport ride. You can modify the stock exhaust to element the chirp, however if you want to replace the exhaust I don't think you'll go wrong by getting an IDS. Forget it. 102db, according to Jardine's phone tech support. The old Jardine isn't much quieter. Neither one includes a spark arrestor. Devon

I've had my IDS on for 4K miles without repacking, and Devon claims that it is quieter than his ever was. It was an IDS Quiet that I've added the IDS2 endcap to, and according to Supertrapp, the endcap is the only difference between IDS and IDS2.
