Hi All, I'm in need of a new rear tire and am considering the K270's. I ride mostly on gravel roads and pavement. The OEM's lasted about 3500 miles and from what I've read here, that seems to be about average. The Kendas look a little more dirt oriented that the OEM's and the price seems good. Or is that Cheap and Dirty?? ;-) How do these things stack up in your collective opinions? How is the street grip, ride, mileage, etc.? Jim

Continental TKC-80's. Nothing more needs to be said. Karl

Are the Kendas K270's uni-directional? I don't see anything on the tire stating that they are not so I am guessing that they are uni-directional. Ed Lubejko 98' KLR650

Yes I think so. I also recomend 50lbs+ or air pressure in the rain :D

I hope so as I couldn't find either an arrow for direction or 'colored dot' for that matter showing the install point adjacent to the air valve. Cheap tar but it works. I am on my second rear and first front and like them but miss leaning the bike over on pavement.. with confidence any way. I had the KLR out in the Capital Forest trails near Olympia WA. One of my fav places but always on the KLX-R before. It was wet, muddy... ruts of mud. Puddles. Yeah it's SPRINGTIME! Any way it was quite a job muscleing the bike thru it all but was impressed with the traction the front Kenda 270 gave in the wet and mud that day. Surprised me. Dan P Graham WA

[snip] Wow! That's so cheap that I think I'll order a set to keep in the garage. Before I do that, I must ask... Just how lethal are these things on the pavement? Has anyone had a pucker moment on these tires that made them wish they were running Gripsters or TKC-80's? Anyone get a peg to scrape with these tires? RM

I have (and no, it wasn't during my crash!). I Love Kendas and have been shamelessly plugging them for years. Mark B2 A2 A3

I hade 'em on my KLX for awhile. They're fine on the road. I never dragged my pegs, never tried to. They're a dual sport tire, not a sport bike tire. They're decent on the trails. I'd say they're a good compromise tire. Ed

Any tire can be used offroad if you let enough air out of it ;) I am guilty of running Gripsters in deep sugar sand @ > -----Original Message----- > From: Duvall Ed [mailto:klxmoto@...] > Sent: Friday, July 27, 2001 4:00 PM > To: DSN_klr650@yahoogroups.com > Subject: [DSN_klr650] Re: Kenda K270's > > > I hade 'em on my KLX for awhile.
