Well, I just put in my K&N Filter and Jet kit. I hate doing things that I know I have no skills at. I used the flip carb meathod on the dualsport page. Everything seems to have come together fine (which means I screwed something up and just haven't found it yet). I used the 150 main jet from the kit since in the near future I will be upgrading the pipe. I had a 148 as stock so I didn't think I wanted to go down. I set the mixture at 2 turns out. Dynajet says 3.5 dualsport says 2.5 and I think mark said 1.5 so I just sort of guessed. The bike seems to be running cooler and pulls smoothly from idle to red line - runs like a champ at 90mph (indicated) with no hesitation anywhere and doesn't pop and sputter while engine braking. What could I have done wrong!! It couldn't be this easy.

Stock Carb and air cleaner = 52mpg DynaJet Stage III (150 main, 4th clip) K&N Filter = 39 mpg (ouch!) I've now drop it to 140 main and 3rd clip. On the mixture screw - I'm at two turns out. As I turn it out am I getting a richer or leaner mixture (more air or more gas)?

The thing behind the show that stuck for most of us motorcyclists was just the idea of freedom that a motorcycle seemed to provide. And ya know...motorcycles do provide that feeling. So I guess that was the whole point. We can all have a little bit of that "Bronson thing" when we're out on a good ride or an extended trip on the KLR without having to revert to a lifestyle of pork & beans, sleeping bags, and cardboard box accomodations. Hi all, It's cold up here in Nova Scotia and decided it was time for some Winter main. a.k.a messing with stuff that ain't broke. I know this must be in the archives but I can't find it? I was hoping to give a basically stock A15 a little better throttle response in the low to midrange RPM for trail riding. I saw a couple of posts dealing with drilling the hole in the slide. Is this worthwile? and what was the drill size? Thanks, Michael
