Dave, I grew up in logging country so its been breed into me to just naturally hate those eco nazi f**cks. I know many fallers that have run into spiked tree and a classmate lost his father when the saw the giant band saw he operated exploded upon hit a spike. Not that I'm a violent person, haven't fired a gun since I gave up hunting with anything but a camera, but since 9/11, from time to time I have pondered the fact that Nevada state law makes it legal to use deadly force in protecting yourself from domestic terrorism. While its a right I wouldn't excretes there are ranchers and hunters out here that would give it second thought and I hope those ELFers have pondered the idea as well. Bill, That should have read 'exercise'. Out here that is what they call Nevaditude. We are one of the very few states where it is still legal openly wear a sidearm, yet its not something we do and last year when the outlaws at an HD rally held in Elko started packing it took the town council about two hours to pass an ordinance banning guns from public festivals. But in this case I feel they are the ones who declared the war. Because I ride dirt bikes they classify me as an enemy soldier to legitimize making me a target and that bothers me. I've spent a lot of time battling the more reasonable greens to preserve the right to use OHVs on public land - this last year a group of them formed a save the sage grouse group and then tried to get the sage grouse on the endangered species list for the purpose of banning motorized traffic. At one of the OHV planning meetings at the Carson City BLM office one of the sage grousers lost it and gave the group notice that they would stop motorcycles and jeeps from raping public land. You read stuff like that ELF flier and connect that with the likes of some of these crazies and you start wondering if this could be one of 'those' types that I need to be worried about. more I think y'all are taking that anti-biker pamphlet *WAY* too seriously. It was clearly a one-man effort to try to piss off some people that never saw it coming. I doubt that the author of that crap ever went out and did something like bury TV-tubes in trailpaths, if he did he wouldnt spend the time drawing up silly cartoon images to go along with the writing. In any case getting pissed off at environmentalists is about as dumb as that anti-biker pamphlet, because our environment is f**ked and not getting much better. This is desperate action by desperate people who are genuinely concerned for our planet. Clear-cutting logging companies along with their corrupt politician buddies who take huge bribes under the tables is enough to outrage any one who loves forests and wildlife. Bush and his cronies who are trying to tap & turn alaska into another giant oil slick instead of promoting things like bio-diesel and fuel cell technology is also maddening. I know that most KLR riders live to ride through natural settings and environmentalists are trying to keep those areas intact and away from loggers & developers and we should be grateful that they are. Again that article was written by a freak not environmentalist, because any decent environmentalist would not bury TV-tubes in trails.

And keep them intact and away from motorcyclists, bicyclists (yes, bicyclists), campers, motor vehicles of any sort.... A lot of organizations, including the Sierra Club, are promoting an agenda of a few people softly trotting through the forests on foot without leaving any trace of their passing. A complete fantasy, considering that probably 90% of the people who support the Sierra Club don't engage in any sort of outdoor activity that extends more than a couple miles away from where they park their car. Health insurance that doesn't cover a damn thing until the bill hits $3k or so is not very expensive. It's usually sold as "catastrophic event only" or some such. No pharmaceutical coverage, no chiropractic, no physicals, etc etc. It's good for someone who is generally healthy but engages in high-risk behavior from time-to-time. RM
