Out for a sunday evening ride, I'm on the klr and my buddy is on
his 400ex honda. Head toward the first section of short trails, go
to cross under a road along a drainage "bayou" and waiting at the
bottom are two punka@@ Harris county constable rejects. At first
when I saw them under the bridge, I could'nt tell who they were. We
got closer and they waved us down to where they were. Thinking that
someone needed help I roll down the dropand stop. I then noticed the
uniforms and lights on the big Honda four wheelers they were on.
They ask for I.d. and we give it to them. The first cop starts in on
us as if we just shot someone which really pissed me off. I just
keep my mouth shut and listen to him, until he mentioned taking us
to jail and a fine for riding on the drainage system land. I
understand the law, in fact my older brother is a cop, but the
attitude these guys had just made me think they are here on some
power trip. Needless to say, no fine , no jail time. Just a
ruined ride. My only big problem is the fact that there are people
commiting real crimes and causing real problems out there in the
world, and these cops on four wheelers are giving us crap about
riding safely on trails away from people. They way they waved us to
them and then lit in to us about riding really pissed me off, when I
was trying to be nice thinking that someone was hurt or broke down
under the bridge and possibly needed help. Now I guess I know just
to turn and run away, not the image or the attitude I like to show
for trail riding world, but about the only way to ride for a couple
of hours in the dirt!! Sorry this is so long, But I had to vent!!
Later, David

Hey Kids, Nice pix; looks like a riot. Was that a motorcycle rim I saw on the hill in the center of one of the photos?
