Sold the Tiger-Finally took delivery of 03 KLR.Should've never left
KLRville. But anyway the 03 developed a whistle at about 1500 miles or
so that seems to originate from the water pump area.Only happens when
engine hot at shutdown. So in other words when I turn the key off and
as the engine spins it's last revolution -a whistle sound occurs, not
very alarming but disturbing.Mechanical w/pump seal ??Any ideas ?

I'd be more inclined to think it's a lose engine mount or body work that is rattling/rubbing. It is the pressure escaping from the fuel tank. Next time open the tank and
see if it stops. TC
